Air Veterans Association

Message from the President (AVA)

My Dear AVAians,

My greetings to all of you on World Veteran’s Day, the 11th of November and Merry Christmas on 25th December and wish you and your families good health and happiness in the years ahead. It was nice to meet many of you personally at Hyderabad on 31st October, 2021, the National Unity Day, where in with great affinity, bonding and unity we all Veteran Air warriors met for a very memorable function. Congratulations to every Air Veteran on behalf of the Air Veterans Association. What a tumultuous achievement it was for the Hyderabad-based Air Veterans in arranging such a big event, amidst great challenges of the paucity of time; making financial arrangements on the one side and a global pandemic on the other. It is equally laudable that our Air Warrior Veterans on Pan-India basis reached Hyderabad to attend the two-day event and made this function a grand success.

The meticulous and systematic efforts made by all the team members before, during the event, and after the event is really laudable. These volunteers worked untiringly while taking care of all the Air Veterans coming from out stations starting with arrangements for a warm reception, accommodating them, taking care of food, and other requirements including local transportations. A wonderful and be fitting ‘Veterans Meet’ was arranged by the Hyderabad team on the previous night of the main event of 31st October 2021.

Air Veterans H/Flt KV Rao, HFO Jagannatham, MWO SB Singh, Sgt Varunan Muthu Pillai, Sgt Manohar Reddy, Sgt Ravindra Phansalkar, Sgt Ravindranath Tagore, Sgt Srinivasa Rao, Capt RR Reddy, Sgt PP Sastry, Cpl Ravi Kumar Murthy, Cpl Srinivas Reddy, Sgt Subhas Chandra Bose and many others whose names might have been missed out inadvertently, have provided excellent cooperation and their services for making the function a grand success..

Brig Abhijit Chandra Dy GOC, HQs TASA, Air Cmde TSS Krishnan, Dy DG NCC AP & TS, Brig V Venkat Reddy, Director Sainik Welfare AP, Col Ramesh Kumar, Director Sainik Welfare TS, Wg Cdr Chati, Wg Cdr TJ Reddy, Sgt B Manohar Raju & his Kurnool Team, Sgt T Venkateswarlu, Sgt Vidyasagar, Sgt Raghava Rao (DSP), WO Prabhakar Rao, Mr. Manoj Son-in-Law of CBR, all the Sponsors, Sgt LVUM Rao, JWO Pavan, Sgt AP Naidu, Sgt Sapkal, Mr.T Ravi Kiran (S/o TBR) JMD & His Team of 25 Members with 5 cars of TBR Infra Pvt Ltd provided excellent support for the function.

This outstanding success was initiated mainly due to the efforts of Super Senior Air Veteran Shri Sharad Chandra Phatak and Air Veteran Shri T Bhogshwar Rao, the duo-dynamic personalities, who had successfully launched the Webinar series right from 16th December 2020 every Sunday wherein all the Heroes of the Indo-Pak War 1971 had participated and narrated their experiences during this ‘Swarnim Vijay Varsh’, the Golden Jubilee of Bangladesh Liberation War 1971. These webinars also included the experiences of many Air warriors who have achieved tremendous success after leaving the Service in various walks of life. These include entrepreneurs, academicians including Vice-Chancellors, Judges, senior officers from the Civil Services, and high-ranking Police officers to name a few. And the feather in our midst has been Shri CBR Prasad, who is working tirelessly for the betterment of socially and economically deprived citizens of our country. He has also generously provided funding for the function in Hyderabad.

The journey does not stop here, but let us continue to not only strengthen our association but also make a positive contribution to society and for Nation building. With this monthly e-Newsletter, the Air Veterans can stay connected and exchange views of common interest. I wish to complement the Editorial Team Air Veterans Dr Mohan S Rao, Dr Satbir Yadav, and Shri Suresh Sapkal for their initiative and efforts in bringing out this e-Newsletter.
