India’s first Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat.

It was very shocking to know of the sudden and untimely accidental demise of India’s first Chief of Defence Staff, General Bipin Rawat. It was with anguish that we also learnt about the death of Mrs Rawat and other accompanying Army and Air Warriors in the tragic helicopter accident. I had personally known Gen Rawat who had set into motion plans for ensuring greater coordination not only amongst the three services but also for better cooperation with other echelons of the Higher Defence Organisation of our country. His pursuit for Atma Nirbhar Bharat in defence equipment was also very laudable. We certainly miss him, but the great legacy he leaves behind will continue to guide the younger generations in making India proud.

On behalf of all the veterans of AVA, I offer my heartfelt prayers and Shraddhanjali to Gen Bipin Rawat, Mrs Rawat and all the Army and Air warriors who lost their lives in the unfortunate helicopter crash.

Shradhanjali And Our Heart Felt Prayers To All The Departed Souls To Rest In Peace.
